Comelec says 30 poll protest cases filed so far


The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has so far received 30 election protest cases.

Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco bared this in a press briefing on Tuesday, May 25.

"The Electoral Contest and Adjudication Department had informed me that as of May 23, they have received 30 election protest cases," he said.

"All of these are being docketed and are being reviewed by them. Of course it will proceed in accordance to rules and procedures," added Laudiangco.

When asked what are the positions involved, he said, it was a "mixed of positions."

"The jurisdiction of Comelec are city positions, provincial, and regional positions," said Laudiangco.
