The San Juan City local government on Friday, May 20, launched the second Covid-19 booster shot for seniors and medical frontliners amid the threat of the emerging sub-variants.

The program was held at the 3rd floor of VMall Greenhills and was led by San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.

The initiative came after the Department of Health (DOH) announced the eligibility of both sectors following the threat of the new Omicron sub-variants. The medical frontliners and senior citizens will receive either Pfizer or Moderna vaccines for their second booster.

Zamora said that qualified A1 and A2 individuals must first register at the San Juan City Vaccine Registration Portal and await a test message from “SanJuanCity” before proceeding to the vaccination areas to avoid crowding. The link and QR code for the vaccination registration can be found in Zamora’s official Facebook page.

“I am once again calling on our medical frontliners and senior citizens who are eligible for their second booster shots to get vaccinated right away. If you got your first booster shot more than four months ago, please register at our website to get your schedule,” Zamora said.

The DOH said that qualified medical frontliners and senior citizens must have received their COVID-19 booster shot at least four months prior and must have received other vaccines at least two weeks before receiving their second booster shot. They are also advised to bring their vaccine cards.

Zamora said the city’s vaccination drive is still open to all eligible individuals for their first booster shot.

They can walk in at any of these satellite vaccination sites: VMall Greenhills near the chapel, San Juan City Hall, Santolan Town Plaza, and Puregold Agora.
