Pasig City starts 2nd Covid-19 booster shot rollout for seniors, frontliners

Senior citizens and frontliners residing in Pasig City may now avail of the second Covid-19 booster shot on Friday, May 20, and Saturday, May 21.

On Friday, May 20, the vaccination rollout will be at the Pasig City Sports Complex from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to the expected influx of people, the city health office said it will impose a cut off at around 3 p.m.

On Saturday, May 21, eligible individuals may get their booster shots at the vaccination site in SM East Ortigas from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Walk-ins are allowed, but they will have to follow a "first come, first served" system. Only 1,000 slots will be accommodated per day.

Senior citizens and frontliners who will avail of the second booster shot must have received their first booster dose four months prior.

They must present a vaccination card and their Pasig Pass QR code upon entry.

For frontliners, they must also bring their ID or Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license.

Immunocompromised individuals are also allowed to avail of the booster dose in these scheduled dates, provided they can present a medical certificate stating their physician's recommendation for the second booster dose.

The Pfizer booster is the only available brand to be administered by the city health office in Pasig for the second dose.

The Department of Health (DOH) recommended a second jab of the booster shot to give further protection and deter the grave effects of evolving Covid-19 variants.

The first vaccination rollout began on Monday, April 25, focusing on immunocompromised persons.

Senior citizens and frontliners were given the green light by the DOH for the second booster shot on Wednesday, May 18.
