The Las Piñas City government is preparing for the May 23 rollout of the second Covid-19 booster shot for senior citizens and health workers.

Vice-Mayor April Aguilar met with the City Health Office (CHO) team headed by Dr. Julie Gonzalez in preparation for the second booster vaccination of senior citizens and health workers.

Aguilar told the CHO team that Mayor Imelda Aguilar wanted a concrete plan for the administration of the second booster shot.

She said the Department of Health (DOH) announced that senior citizens and frontline health workers may now avail of second booster shot to strengthen their immunity against Covid-19, including the Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1.

The said individuals may receive Modena and Pfizer vaccines for their second booster shot at least four months after the administration of first booster dose.

Aguilar said the A1 (frontline health workers) and A2 (senior citizens) will receive a text message regarding the time and place of their second booster vaccination.

The vice-mayor also suggested to use open community sites such as the Verdant Covered Court, Golden Acres Covered Court, Almanza Uno Covered Court, San Antonio Covered Court, Bambusetum Covered Court, Gatchalian Covered Court and T.S Cruz Covered Court as additional vaccination sites in administering the second booster shot.
