Dwight Ramos will remain in Japan’s B.League for at least another season after signing with his new team Levanga Hokkaido.
Levanga made the announcement Wednesday, May 17 after Ramos completed his maiden Japanese campaign with the Toyama Grouses.
“I’m very excited to play for Hokkaido next season,” Ramos said in a statement released by Hokkaido on its website. “I was able to visit Hokkaido twice last season and I loved the city.
“I’m also looking forward to playing with very talented players in Hokkaido and hopefully making a run in the playoffs next season.”
Ramos averaged 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists with the Grouses, who posted a 24-35 record during the 2021-22 season.
Toyama earlier in the day said that Ramos will not be returning for the 2022-23 campaign.
“You guys made my first year in Japan so easy because of your support,” Ramos said on the Grouses site. “I will keep working hard and I look forward to seeing you guys again in the future!”
Hokkaido went 21-35, but is hoping that the addition of the Gilas Pilipinas mainstay will help boost its chances of making the playoffs next season.
