The person who has been allegedly posing as Atty. Vic Rodriguez, the spokesperson of presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and reported to be soliciting money through social media has been found and identified.
But the person, identified as Ryan Ace Castillejo, could no longer be arrested as he was found to be detained at the maximum-security compound of the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City on conviction for two counts of qualified theft.
Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra confirmed the findings of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) which conducted a probe and surveillance.
Guevarra said that while Castillejo is already serving his jail term, charges of cybercrime will be filed against him.
Found in possession of Catillejo at his cell in NBP were a mobile phone and notebooks containing names of possibly past or prospective victims.
“I’ll have this incident further investigated,” Guevarra assured.
“Possession by a PDL of a mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the NBP, most especially in the maximum-security compound,” he stressed.
