Pampanga 3rd district Rep. Aurelio Gonzales, who served two past terms in the House of Representatives, has been elected and proclaimed for his third and final term in the same post.

Rep. Gonzales ran unopposed and took 291,594 votes as per the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

“We will continue to serve them well,” Rep. Gonzales said in a statement on Tuesday, May 17.

Two of his children similarly ran for local posts; both were newcomers to the political scene.

Mica Gonzales was proclaimed as a provincial board member for Pampanga’s 3rd legislative district, with 237,330 votes or 30.56 percent of the total.

Brenz Gonzales was proclaimed a San Fernando, Pampanga city councilor, taking 82,006 votes or 7.27 percent of the total.

The two Gonzales newcomers credited their victory in their elections to their father’s political track record in the province.
