Ian Veneracion was only 6 or 7 years old when he joined show business. Some people say exposing kids to showbiz at a very young age can have negative consequences. Ian certainly disproves this fact, as he honed his creativity and pursued other interests apart from his acting. He also became a painter like his dad, a paraglider, a licensed private pilot, a scuba diver, and racer. And the list goes on.
”Singer” can now be added to multi-hyphenate Ian’s list of achievements. He has formally joined ATeam, an artist and event management company owned by his good friend, OPM icon Ogie Alcasid. ATeam already handled Ian’s concert ”Ian In Color” way back in 2019 but this time around, they are gearing up for more ambitious collabs.
Ian’s latest single “Ninuno” – which he co-wrote with Iean Iñigo – was released last month and bigger projects are in store, such as a series of concerts abroad. Sources say Ian’s mestizo good looks plus his ageless appeal still commands a large following among overseas-based Pinoys. Women swoon the moment they hear simpatico Ian’s golden voice. A bonus is that he also plays the piano and guitar.
In a press conference announcing his link-up with ATeam, Ian said Ogie is a good friend but “we never discuss work. We just talk about music and golf all the time.”
He added, however, that trust is a big factor when he decided to hand over to the ATeam the matter of managing his entertainment career. ” I was flattered when Ogie believed in me and spent the money to produce a concert for me. Am happy that my singing idol welcomed me with open arms. I am excited to pursue different mediums of the performing arts and music with the ATeam.”
For his part, Ogie said that they are honored to have an A-list artist like Ian in their roster.
“I have been waiting for this day. We are excited to represent Ian as one of the country’s most beloved gems in the entertainment biz. I know he wants to accomplish a lot of things. We just want him to know that we are here to support him every step of the way,” Ogie declared.
Ian acknowledged that music is now his main passion in a multi-faceted career that spans a record 40 years. As far as acting is concerned, he just finished shooting the Netflix series “A Love To Kill” opposite Andrea Torres and other local actors.
As a singer and songwriter, Ian’s portfolio includes covers of Jose Mari Chan classics as well as thematic concerts like “Ian in 3 Acts” (2018), “Virtually Yours: Kilabotitos” (with Ogie) and “Pajamajam.”
A full service agency which prides itself as the “Home of Online Content Creators and Entertainers,”, ATeam manages artists like Lara Maigue, Aikee, Moira Lacambra, Gian Magdangal, Anthony Barion and Poppert Bernados.
