Man stabbed over ‘cara y cruz’ game in Tondo, Manila


A 24-year-old man was stabbed and critically wounded by his fellow “cara y cruz” player following a heated argument in Tondo, Manila on Monday, May 16.

Police Lt. Col. Robert Domingo, commander of the Jose Abad Santos Police Station, identified the victim as Jomar Bucao of Daang Bakal St., Tondo.

The suspect, identified only as a certain "Joel", fled after the incident and is now being hunted by the police.

According to the report, the victim and the suspect engaged in a heated argument while they were playing “cara y cruz” at 1:40 a.m.

Bucao later went home but the suspect followed and waited for him in front of his house.

Bucao was rushed to Tondo Hospital and later transferred to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.

The suspect then stabbed the victim in the back and neck as the latter stepped out of his residence, police said.
