Sy, who sat outside the top 3 in round 5, fired 232 in the final round to nab the second place by a hairline, 1320 against the 1319 score of the bronze medalist and Singaporean New Hui Fen.

Cherie Tan Shi Hua bagged the gold mint after hitting 1442 pinfalls.

Fellow Filipina Mades Lourdes Ares finished 11th with 1031.

It was a perfect start so far for the PH bowlers as it already bagged two medals right in the opening day of the bowling competition - including the gold from Merwin Tan which ended an 11-year gold medal dry spell in SEAG bowling.

The PH bowling team can still gun for a richer medal haul when it competes in bowling men’s double and women’s double on Wednesday.
