My Chemical Romance drops first single after eight years

My Chemical Romance

Shoutout to all emo kids! The iconic 2000s rock band My Chemical Romance gave their fans the ultimate gift of a lifetime, releasing their first single entitled The Foundations of Decay.

After they disbanded in 2013, Gerard, Zack, Mickey, and Ray dropped a farewell single entitled "Fake your Death." The song was produced by Way, Doug, Mckean, and Ray Toro.

In 2020, the band was set to tour in North America and Europe, but it was postponed due to Covid-19.

The Foundations of Decay features a mellow electric guitar and piano that follows Gerard's vocals.

"See the man who stands upon the hill,” he sings. “He dreams of all the battles won. But fate had left scars upon his face, with all the damage they have done.” (Carissa Alcantara)
