The Commission on Elections (Comelec) may partially proclaim the winning party-lists in the May 9 polls.

"We may partially proclaim based on the total of votes that we have right now," Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said in a press briefing Saturday, May 14.

He said the National Board of Canvassers is still studying this possibility.

As to the winning senators, Laudiangco said, the intention is to proclaim all together the 12 winning senatorial candidates.

"As to the party-lists, as what I've said because of the rule of getting the total number of party-list votes in order to apply the formula laid down by the Supreme Court, there might be some delay," he said.

The Comelec is eyeing to proclaim the winning senators next week or early next week.

The Comelec en banc, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, is currently canvassing the votes for senators and party-lists at the Philippine International Convention Center Forum Tent in Pasay City.
