BOC destroys P95M worth of smuggled, abandoned items

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Subic has destroyed some P95 million worth of cigars and other imported items that were either seized or were not claimed by their respective consignees.

The items were inside nine container vans, three of them contained the cigarettes, that were seized last year.

The remaining shipments were overstaying containers of assorted household goods and personal effects.

The shipments were destroyed through shredding, crushing, and dumping in an accredited facility in Pampanga.
