Abalos is also a former Mandaluyong City mayor. He left his post as MMDA chairman earlier this year in order to serve as Marcos's campaign manager.

Rodriguez said Abalos is also a member of the transition team formed by Marcos in preparation for his take over as chief executive.

"And I have with me, Congressman Anton Lagdameo, Chairman Benhur Abalos, former Congresswoman Naida Angping, and South Cotabato Governor Jun Tamayo," he added.

"These are the names that I am at liberty to reveal at the moment, but this is the composition of our transition team," Rodriguez further said.
