"You know a leader is only good as the best of his or her team, so kung magaling ang team magiging successful talaga ang isang leader (if a team is good then the leader will become successful) and you are that for me," Mayor Duterte said on Tuesday evening, May 10 to her campaign team.

Mayor Duterte, daughter to incumbent President Rodrigo Duterte, is leading the vice presidential race based on partial and unofficial election results.

She has garnered about 31 million votes as of this writing, granting her frontrunner status.

"Kanina sinasabi ng mga tao at sinasabi ni Rep. Martin sa akin sabi niya (Earlier, the people and even Romualdez said ‘wow 31 million votes that is you.’ Sabi ko hindi, sabi ko 31 million votes is ginawa niyong lahat, ako lang 'yung kandidato kasi hindi ko naman magagawa lahat paisa-isa 'yung mga tasks and responsibilities niyo as a candidate kaya nga nandyan kayo (I said no, those 31 million votes came from you, I’m just the candidate. I can’t do on my own the tasks and responsibilities you handled for me),"the younger Duterte said.

"So again thank you and simula pa lang ito marami pa tayong trabaho para sa ating bayan (this is just the start, there is more work to be done for the country) and we hope to collaborate and coordinate with your respective offices para sa tuloy-tuloy natin na pagtulong sa ating mga kababayan (to continue to help our countrymen), of course we are doing this because we want to see a better country, a better future para sa mga anak natin (for our children)," she concluded.

Meanwhile, Duterte’s presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. similarly nabbed about 31 million votes as per partial and unofficial results.
