PH, Indonesia drawn in separate groups in SEAG MLBB


Powerhouse teams Philippines and Indonesia were drawn to separate groups in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang esports event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.

The Sibol MLBB national team, which will be bannered by the M3 World Champions Blacklist International core in Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Salic “Hadji” Imam, will join Malaysia, Laos and Myanmar in Group A.

They will be joined by amateur standouts Lee Howard Gonzales and Kyle Dominic Soto who will take the place of Kiel “Oheb” Soriano and Edward “Edward” Dapadap who were deemed ineligible to the tournament due to Hanoi age restriction.

Indonesia, meanwhile, put up an all-star cast that featured Rivaldi “R7” Fatah, Albert "Alberttt" Neilsen Iskandar and Calvin “Vynn” of RRQ Hoshi, Ihsan "Luminaire" Besari Kusudana of Evos Legends, and Calvin “CW” Winata of Onic Esports.

Malaysia on the other hand will field professional players from Todak while Singapore will have four players from the pro team EVOS Singapore. Host Vietnam will be composed of players from Cyber EXE while Laos and Myanmar will be bannered by players from Nightmare Esports and Trend Esports respectively.

In other esports events, the Sibol Wild Rift team is grouped with Thailand and Malaysia in Pool B while powerhouse Vietnam joined Laos, Singapore and Myanmar in Pool A.

In Crossfire, the Filipino bets will tangle against the Indonesians in the upper bracket round while host Vietnam will face Laos in the other bracket. The Sibol League of Legends team on the other hand, will be in Group A along with Singapore and Thailand while Laos, Malaysia and Vietnam will be in Group B.

Esports events fire off May 13.
