Padios eclipsed her performance in the 2019 edition, where she settled for silver medal here in the Philippines more than two years ago, to dethrone Arumsari.

In her routine that lasted 3:01, Padios scored 9.960 which was relatively higher compared to Arumsari’s 9.945.

Before the final score was announced, the two shared centerstage and hugged each other before Padios ran around carrying the Philippine flag.

She outclassed Thai foe Nurisan Loseng in the quarterfinal before surpassing home bet Vuong Thi bing of host Vietnam by a slim margin en route to the gold medal round.
