Hundreds of protesters in Bataan, Bulacan, Angeles City peacefully dispersed


CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga -- Hundreds of protesters in Bataan, Bulacan and Angeles City were peacefully dispersed by police authorities on Tuesday, a day after the national elections that saw former Senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte win via overwhelming majority vote.

The protesters belonging to Anakbayan-Bataan chapter, as well as UP Clark- Subic students who converged at Plaza de Mayor, Balanga City, Barasoain Church in Malolos City and Plaza Miranda in Angeles City were protesting the poll results.

The rallyists also aired their grievances on other issues such as excess taxes and VAT and what they claimed was widespread corruption.

"Reports reached us that people started to gather at around 11 a.m. and their program ended immediately because they were peacefully dispersed by our men on the ground since they have no permit to rally," said Brigadier General Matthew P. Baccay, regional director of Police Regional Office 3.

Meanwhile, seven individuals were arrested for violation of liquor ban in Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac and Olongapo City.

Personnel of Bagac Police arrested Cyril Gonzales, 31, a resident of Brgy. Ibis, Bagac, Bataan who was involved in a traffic accident when his driven vehicle collided with another vehicle. Gonzales was obviously intoxicated as confirmed by breath analyzer or liquor test.

Others arrested were Reynaldo Adulyo, 32 ,and resident of Sitio Camino, San Isidro, San Luis, Pampanga Christian James Alba, 28 ,New Asinan, Olongapo City, Renz Mariano, 29 , Sta Rita, Olongapo City and Jake Carl Bryan Nerza , 29 , New Banicain, Olongapo City and Antolin Balagtas and two others.
