COMELEC Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said during a press briefing around noon Tuesday, May 10, that “as of now umabot na tayo ng 98.21 percent (as of now we have reached 98.21 percent).”

“This is a breakthrough compared to other elections,” the commissioner boasted.

“Talagang mabilis yung transmission (The transmission of the results is reallt fast),” he added.

Out of the 107,785 election results it is expecting, Casquejo said “103,790 already transmitted.”

Casquejo said the COMELEC made sure that the transmission of results were fast for the 2022 local and national elections.

“Yun transmission mode pinag-aralan ng husto after the 2019 elections (We studied the transmission mode following the 2019 elections),” he explained.

“We enhanced the terms of reference of our transmission,” he added.

He also attributed the fast transmission because of “may bagong technology na rin for the transmission (there is new technology for the transmission).”

The commissioner also cited that all VCMs’ ports were fixed underwent pre-logic accuracy tests (pre-LAT) in the transmission of results.

“Kasi in 2019 hindi tayo nagkaroon ng pre-LAT or the transmission of results to all data centers (No pre-LAT were done in 2019),” he disclosed.

“But we did in 2022...every vote counting machines nakapag transmit during pre-logic accuracy tests (every VCM transmitted during the pre-LAT),” he added.

The commissioner said there will only be a problem in the transmission if the area has signal.
