“I would like to thank all the volunteers and supporters who stayed with us hanggang (until) today. Nagulat ako kasi marami talaga gusto peace of mind (Many thanks to those who found peace of mind. I was surprised because many really want peace of mind),” Domagoso said in a chance interview here.

“Salamat kasi ligtas tayong lahat. At salamat sa Diyos kasi so far, as of this moment, generally peaceful ang eleksyon (Thank you because we are all safe. And thank God because so far, as of this moment, the election has been generally peaceful),” he added.

Domagoso appealed to Filipino voters to endure the heat and the long queues.

This only happens once in six years and this is not about me as a presidential candidate. It's about your life. Six years of your child's life, six years of our life, of our country),” he said.

“Nakita ko ang hirap ng tao —‘yung pila, yung init... konting sakripisyo (I saw people suffering - the queue, the heat... we need to do a little sacrifice),” he added.

The Manila mayor also promised that he will not disappoint all those who supported him should he win the presidency.

Hindi ko kayo ipapahiya (If I get lucky with the mercy of God and with your help, I will give you peace of mind. I will not embarrass you),” he said.

Napakahirap hanapin ng peace of mind (Like what I said, I don't want to fight anymore. All I offer you is peace of mind. It is very difficult to find peace of mind) But today, you will find it),” he said.

Domagoso also wished his rivals “good luck and good health.”

His running mate, vice presidential candidate Doc Willie Ong, cast his vote at the Dasmariñas Village Clubhouse in Makati City.
