Having begun their campaign with the “promise of progress”, the team, led by incumbent mayor of Pasig City and re-electionist Vico Sotto, urged their supporters to seize the election day as a chance to help fulfill their advocacy against corruption and fear-mongering in local governance.

“Ang gusto natin ay isang malayang Pasig, bawat isang Pasigueno ay malaya, walang takot lalo na sa gobyerno. Gusto natin isang pamahalaan na kinakalinga tayo ano man ang iyong kulay ng politika, posisyon sa buhay, kung saan ka man manggaling (We want a free Pasig where every Pasigueno is free, and does not fear the government. We want a government that supports us regardless of political colors, status, and where we come from),” said Sotto.

Sotto said, if his team wins, their focus would be on how to further use government funds for the betterment of the people as they seek to enact a long-term, "deeper kind of change" for the benefit of future leaders and generations.

"Marami tayong napagtagumpayan noong nakaraang tatlong taon pero higit-higit pa sa nakikita natin ngayon ang pwede nating gawin sa susunod na 3 taon (We had many victories in the past three years, but we can achieve and do more than what we have envisioned now in the next three years,)" Sotto added.

The Miting de Avance drew in large groups that flocked to the Plaza Rizal at around 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Prior to the rally, a guest performance by Filipino band "Hale" warmed up the already enthusiastic crowd for the night.

The members of Team Giting ng Pasig each took turns addressing the people, calling for solidarity among their supporters.

They testified their commitments to aid Sotto's mission in building an open and honest government that is accountable to the people and responsible for the people's needs.

Coney Reyes, Vic Sotto, Mike Cojuangco, and Shalani Soledad also attended the event and helped introduce the team's slate.

Sotto's first term as Pasig City mayor has been lauded for its anti-corruption policies, efficient management of government funds, and focus on social welfare programs.

Team Giting ng Pasig held a proclamation rally to kick off their local campaign at the Pasig Mega Market on Friday, March 25.

Throughout the campaign period, they talked with the people in daily caucuses in the city’s barangays.

They held a grand rally on April 9, Araw ng Kagitingan.

They also began holding motorcades around the city on Easter Sunday, and more frequently in the days running up to the elections.

Joining Sotto in the team are vice mayoral candidate Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. and re-electionist Congressman Roman Romulo.

The team’s councilor slate for District 1 include Mark Gil “Volta” Delos Santos, Roderick “Eric” Gonzales, Raymund “Kiko” Rustia, Paul Roman “Pao” Santiago, Paul Senogat, and Simon Romulo Tantoco.

Among those for District 2 are Noel “Buboy” Agustin, Quin “Kin” Cruz, Maria Luisa “Angelu” De Leon, Marion “Mato” Martires, and Corazon “Corie” Raymundo.
