LOOK: Nara Thai gets another Thai Select Seal

Craving for authentic Thai cuisine? Look no further than Nara Thai

Bringing the flavors of Thailand to the Philippines is the goal of Roku Group Inc. when it brought Nara Thai restaurant into the country four years ago. With its dishes remaining faithful to how they are made in Bangkok and its exceptional service, the restaurant has captured the hearts and tummies of the Filipinos. A testament to its dedication to introducing Thai cuisine to Filipino diners, the restaurant has once again been awarded with the much-coveted Thai Select Seal, a distinction that is “shared by select restaurants that have passed the golden standard of commitment to authenticity and quality in Thai cuisine.”

This is not the first time the Nara Thai was honored with the seal. During its first year of service in the Philippines, it already gained the approval of the Royal Thai Government, earning its first Thai Select Seal. Last April, Nara Thai in SM Megamall opened its doors to guests to mark its fourth-year anniversary and to celebrate the grand recognition.

Nara Thai feast

Guests were treated to a truly Thai feast with the restaurant serving its best offerings. Nara Thai takes pride in serving authentic Thai cuisine with ingredients flown in from Thailand, cooked by Thai and Thai-trained chefs. The degustation began with a refreshing pomelo salad, a plate of crunchy fried spinach, and slices of prawn pancake. What came next is the tom ka gai, a chicken and coconut soup that is creamy and packs intense spice. Filipino diners shouldn’t miss tasting the restaurant’s vibrant crab meat yellow curry and beef green curry. While the traditional mango sticky rice is the perfect treat to end the feast on a sweet note.

Hon. Thawat Sumitmor - Charge D’Affaires, Royal Thai Embassy, Manila, and Sheila Bermudez-Romero

Before the celebration ended, guest raised their glasses as the Thai Select Seal was given to Roku Group Inc. President and CEO Sheila Bermudez-Romero by the Royal Thai Government, represented by the Chargé D’Affaires, Hon. Thawat Sumitor and Janthana Chotimunee, director of Thai Trade Center.

“Knowing that we have succeeded in consistently providing our customers with the authentic dining experience is truly fulfilling. But having our hard work recognized today is something that we will really treasure,” Sheila proudly said. “It is very encouraging for us most especially that this business is really hit by the pandemic. But despite the challenges, we did everything to make sure that our team is intact.”
