In a text message on Thursday, May 5, Comelec Commissioner George Erwin Garcia confirmed the determination of the said parties.

Resolution no. 10787, promulgated on May 4, 2022, also disclosed the 10 major political parties which are National Unity Party, Aksyon Demokratiko, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Liberal Party, United Nationalist Alliance, Lakas-CMD, NPC, Partido para sa Demokratikong Reporma, Akbayan, and Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino.

Under the law, it is stated the Comelec shall determine the dominant majority party, dominant minority party, and 10 major political parties which shall be entitled to one official watcher in every polling place and canvassing center.

The poll body shall also furnish the dominant majority party and dominant minority party with copies of the election returns and certificates of canvass. Watchers of the dominant majority and dominant minority party shall be given preference, if the space in the canvassing/consolidation center is insufficient.

Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said that the 10 major political parties will also have access to the transparency server in the May 2022 polls.

Others who have access to the transparency server are the Kapisanan ng Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (citizens arm), dominant parties, and media.

In the resolution, both PDP Laban President Sec. Alfonso Cusi and Chairman Sen. Koko Pimentel filed a separate petition for accreditation as dominant majority party, dominant minority party and 10 major national parties.

For this purpose the Commission En Banc treated them as one single political party. Garcia said that they will release the resolution on the PDP-Laban factions soon.
