In a press statement on Tuesday, May 3, Villar highlighted 11 Visayas-based projects that were begun during the current administration.

Four of these projects have already been completed, namely the Kalibo Bridge 3 in Aklan, the Iloilo Esplanade park in Iloilo City, the Candoni-Gatuslao-Basay Road in Negros Occidental, and the Himamaylan City-Negros Oriental Boundary-Tayasan Road between Negros Occidental and Oriental.

Meanwhile, the seven projects that are currently being developed are the Boracay Circumferential Road in Boracay, Aklan; the Ungka and Aganan Flyovers in Iloilo City; the Maayon-Sara Road in Panay Island; the Panay East-West Lateral Road in Western Visayas; the Comon-San Pedro Coastal Road in Antique; the Guimaras Circumferential Roadin Guimaras; and the Bacolod Negros Occidental Economic Highway between Bacolod City and Victorias City.

“The ‘Build, Build, Build’ program continues to implement high-impact infrastructure programs and successfully provided quality infrastructure facilities and services responsive to the needs of every Filipino”, Villar said in the same statement.

Villar’s main platform as a senatorial candidate in the May 9 polls is the continuation of the Build, Build, Build infrastructure modernization program. This includes seeing the completion of the infrastructure projects currently in development.
