Art All Around: ‘Life,’ ‘Secret Garden,’ ‘Takipsilim,’ and virtual art workshops

What’s new and upcoming at Art Lounge Manila, Eskinita Art Gallery, and Ayala Museum

ONGOING: ‘Life’

VENUE: Art Lounge Manila, The Podium in Mandaluyong City

Life flows from the fount that comes directly from the heart of God and permeates all living things. This is what Rodel Buban captures so vividly and poignantly in his latest exhibition aptly and simply titled “Life.” The predominant element in this exhibition is the artist’s use of flowing lines and waves in various hues and tones to give form and substance to the idea of life that the artist hopes to represent. But as a reflection of real life, each frame features a carefully curated color palette to represent the different moods, times, and seasons that we all go through in this voyage called life.

“Life” runs until May 1.

ONGOING: ‘Takipsilim: Loaded 2’

VENUE: Eskinita Art Gallery, 59 Paseo de Roxas, Urdaneta, Makati City

The selection of works for the “Takipsilim: Loaded 2” exhibit weighs heavily on that topic because, at the time of writing, history is being threatened to repeat its bloody mistakes again, thanks to the cult of personality that dictators have been radiating down to their heirs and living descendants. So at the evenfall of a world bound to face the brooding claws of tyranny, as the only son and namesake of a brutal dictator is now a presidential election frontrunner, we are all called into action to defend the freedom that we hold dear to our hearts. “Takipsilim: Loaded 2” features the works of Abril Valdemoro, Cedrick dela Paz, Christopher Yap, Denmark dela Cruz, Fernan Odang, Jojit Solano, Mark Laza, and Tamer Karam. “Takipsilim: Loaded 2” runs until May 10.
