‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,’ ‘Morbius’ top Korean box office in April


“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” and “Morbius” topped the box office for the month of April in South Korea.

The Korean Film Council (KOFIC), which tracks box office receipts, released the list of the top-grossing films in Korea for April.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” released in South Korea on April 13, grabbed first place, selling 1.01 million tickets and grossing $.8.24 million in April. The fantasy movie stars Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller and Dan Fogler.

The Marvel film “Morbius,” starring Jared Leto, Matt Smith and Adria Arjona, took second place with $.2.93 million in revenue and 365,799 tickets sold.

Placing third is “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” which earned $.197 million and garnered 274,129 in total admissions.

The Korean Film “I Want to Know Your Parents” grabbed fourth place with 170,206 tickets sold and gross of $1.2 million.

Fifth is the Korean movie “Anchor” with 150,000 tickets sold and revenue of $1.15 million.
