Muntinlupa City records 52 new Covid-19 cases in April


The Muntinlupa City government recorded 52 new Covid-19 cases for the month of April, a decrease by 45 percent from the previous month.

Daily data from the City Health Office (CHO) showed that Muntinlupa’s total confirmed Covid-19 cases rose from 39,906 on April 1 to 39,958 on April 30, or 52 additional cases.

In March, Muntinlupa tallied 95 new Covid-19 cases from 39,809 confirmed cases on March 1 to 39,904 on March 31.

The April total is a decrease of 45 percent from March. In February, there were 541 new Covid-19 cases in Muntinlupa and 11,402 new cases in January.

As of April 30, Muntinlupa has six active cases out of 39,958 confirmed cases , 39,338 recoveries and 614 deaths.

Muntinlupa recorded seven new cases, six recoveries and zero deaths on April 30. Of the six active cases, two are listed in Barangay Ayala Alabang, and one each in Tunasan, Poblacion, Cupang and Sucat. Barangays Putatan, Bayanan, Alabang and Buli have zero Covid-19 cases.

As of April 28, there are 493,568 individuals who are fully vaccinated in Muntinlupa, equivalent to 111.54 percent of the target population of 442,517. The target population is 80 percent of Muntinlupa’s estimated total population of 553,146.

Of the 493,568, a total of 129,419 have received their first booster shot, or 26.22 percent. In addition, 66 immunocompromised individuals have been given their second booster shot in Muntinlupa from April 26 to 28.

Health Usec. Myrna Cabotaje said during the “Laging Handa” public briefing on April 30 that a total of 6,702 immunocompromised individuals in the country have received their second booster shot.
