TAYUG, Pangasinan – A fire hit the PNP station here on Saturday afternoon and destroyed the Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) quarter, the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office reported.

The fire struck on the 3rd floor of Tayug Police, particularly inside the PNCOs quarter at about 3:36 p.m.

Investigator on case Corporal Dexter F. Ferreras said that the cause of fire and the cost of the game were still being determined.

Corporal Virgilio Castillano was the first to notice the fire. Immediately, PNP personnel on duty led by Major Rommel Sembrano, OIC, tried to put out the fire thru the fire extinguisher but their efforts did not work.

The fire was declared under control at 4:55 p.m. after BFP-Tayug and the neighboring police stations sought reinforcements from the Bureau of Fire Protection.

“Kasalukuyan ay wala pang kuryente ang station dahil pinatay pa namin ang circuit breaker, pero handa naman po ang PNP para pagsilbihan ang mga tao na mangangailangan ng kanilang police clearance at iba pang pangangailangan ng publiko” Corporal Ferreras told Manila Bulletin.

He said they had established temporary tables near the station to assist anyone proceeding to the police station.
