Alex Eala absorbed a 6-0, 6-0 beating from Hungary’s Anna Bondar in the first-round qualifying of the Mutua Madrid Open in Spain Tuesday night.

The 24-year-old Bondar, who is currently ranked No. 75 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), bombarded Eala with eight aces and 23 first-serve points to dominate the match in just 61 minutes.
Eala, 16, earned a wildcard berth in the qualifying of this prestigious tournament after clinching her second pro title at the W25 Chiang Rai International Tennis Federation (ITF) event two weeks ago.
She is currently ranked No. 354 – a career-high achievement.
