La Salle aims to inch closer to a Final Four berth when it takes on Far Eastern University in a crucial UAAP Season 84 playdate today at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Green Archers hope to get back on the winning track against theTamaraws in the 10 a.m. clash following a painful 72-69 loss at the hands of the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons last Saturday.

La Salle currently sits at the third spot with a 7-4 record and could boost its chances for a semifinal spot if it hurdles past the Morayta-based squad.

Justine Baltazar and Deschon Winston, who both had 16 points against UP, will once again be at the forefront of the attack for the Archers.

Pressure will also be on their backcourt duo of Evan Nelle and Mark Nonoy as they will be tasked to put the clamps on FEU’s dynamic combo-guards RJ Abarrientos and LJ Gonzales who are coming in fresh from a 30-point triumph against UE, 91-61, last Saturday.

The match is also deemed crucial for the Tamaraws’ Final Four bid as they are tied with Adamson at the No. 4 spot with identical 5-6 records.

In the other games, UP (9-2) hopes to keep its momentum going as it faces the already eliminated University of the East (0-11) at 12:30 p.m.

Ateneo, unbeaten in 11 games, looks to preserve its unblemished record against a red-hot Adamson side at 4:30 p.m., while UST (3-8) battles for survival against National University (4-7) in the final game of the day at 7 p.m.
