Sista completed a two-game sweep of Pool A to reach the quarterfinals of the PBA 3x3 Second Conference Grand Finals Wednesday, April 20 before being halted by a fire that broke out inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Jan Jamon played the hero’s role as he knocked down the winning two-point shots in the Super Sealers’ overtime victories over the Pioneer Pro Tibay, 19-17, and Purefoods TJ Titans, 20-19.

Jamon, Kenneth Mocon, Joseph Manlangit and Jamil Gabawan advanced to the knockout stage despite placing ninth after six legs of the league’s halfcourt competition.

Pioneer would end up securing the second quarters berth with a 21-16 victory over Purefoods.

Gian Abrigo, Christian Rivera, Robin Rono and Carlo Escalambre finished with a 1-1 record while Purefoods was eliminated after all two pool assignments.

The remaining two quarters berths in Pool B have yet to be determined when the Grand Finals had to be suspended due to the incident that also led to the postponement of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s Encho Serrano, Jayson David, Jollo Go and Denice Villamor defeated Terrafirma, 22-18, and was slated to face Platinum Karaoke when everyone inside the venue were evacuated.

Terrafirma bounced back with a 21-19 overtime victory over Platinum courtesy of Jeremiah Taladua’s two-pointer to keep its hopes alive.

Taladua, TH Tumalip, Dhon Reverente and Ronald Tubid are hoping for a Platinum win over Ginebra for a chance to sneak a spot in the quarters.
