United City FC hopes to bounce back from a heartbreaking start to its AFC Champions League campaign when it takes on Australian side Melbourne City Monday, April 18 in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

The Philippines Football League side battles the A-League champion at 10 p.m. Philippine time inside the Pathum Thani Stadium, three days after falling short against South Korean club Jeonnam Dragons.

In that match, United City was minutes away from securing a scoreless draw when Leonard Pllana struck the winner near stoppage time for the K-League squad.

UCFC tries to atone for that missed chance against a Melbourne that played Thai club BG Pathum United to a 1-1 draw also last Friday.

Team captain Mike Ott, JJ Robertson and Amirbek Juraboev will try to lead United City’s quest to put up a strong challenge against Melbourne.

Melbourne is eager to take the full three points after Andrew Nabbout’s opener was cancelled by a Pathum United equalizer courtesy of Thai football legend Teerasil Dangda.
