Police arrested four persons and confiscated P4.25 million worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in Taguig on April 13.

According to Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, police conducted a buy-bust operation at about 7:35 p.m. on Labao Street, Barangay Ligid-Tipas.

The SPD identified the arrested suspects as Amerigo Baldos, 39; Benedicto Barcelona, 50; Johncin Ochea, 24; and Francis Barcelona, 24, who were caught with 625 grams of suspected shabu worth P4.25 million.

SPD’s District Drug Enforcement Unit, which has custody of the suspects, said the four are high value targets (HVT).

Drug operatives made the arrest after they were able to purchase P43,000 worth of shabu during the buy-bust operation.

The police also recovered one genuine P1,000 bill placed on top of 42 pieces of P1,000 boodle money, one face mask container, one digital weighing and two eco bags.

The four suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)

"I would like to congratulate our operating units for another laudable accomplishment. We will remain aggressive in our fight against illegal drugs, that is our promise," said Macaraeg.

On April 12, Taguig police arrested a barangay volunteer for possession of suspected shabu and “balisong” (butterfly knife) in Barangay Napindan, Taguig.
