Over 12,500 cops, force multipliers to secure NCR for Holy Week

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has deployed almost 2,000 policemen in various areas of Metro Manila as part of the security measures for the Holy Week.

NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad said the policemen will be augmented by more than 10,000 force multipliers composed mainly of barangay watchmen, enforcers from various government agencies, and anti-crime volunteers.

Natividad said a total of 1,459 policemen were deployed in different places of convergences, mostly church and public places; 60 cops in tourist destinations, 55 cops for road assistance and 257 policemen in transportation hubs.

"In total, 12, 555 persons shall be deployed in various places to secure Metro Manila for the Holy Week," said Natvidad.

"No threat was reported, monitored and identified but rest assured that we shall still employ the highest possible preparation to ensure the safety and security of Metro Manila," he added.

Aside from bus terminals, Natividad said he also instructed police commanders to ensure the safety of malls, streets, neighborhood and other places of convergence.
