ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat — Three people were killed while ten others were injured when a wayward cargo delivery truck rammed into a commuter van along the national highway in Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat last Sunday.

Esperanza police chief Captain Jethro Dave Doligas said the cargo truck driven by Daniel Casten was on its way to Tacurong City from Cotabato City when the driver lost control of the vehicle which collided with the passenger van along the national highway in Barangay Dukay, Esperanza.
Police investigators said the cargo truck swerved to the opposite lane and collided with the approaching commuter van driven by Esmeraldo Fuentes. As a result of the strong impact, three of 13 passengers of the van died.
The fatalities were identified as Nora Amular 48, Lilibeth Amular 52; and Roger Amular, 48.
Casten was taken into police custody after he was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and physical injuries.
