MB Daily News Update: Covid-19 cases 'plateauing' – DOH


The number of new Covid-19 cases being recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) has stabilized at 357 daily, and the agency thinks that this could be what it is called “plateauing” because this was already the minimal level number of cases based on the current situation.

And with 30 days to go before the May 9 polls, Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan said that everything was ready for the elections that will pick, primarily, the country’s 17th president.

Airline companies have prepared more flights, and local agencies have mobilized support groups for the expected exodus of Filipinos from urban centers to the provinces as the Holy Week break nears.

The country will also experience rainy weather through the weekend due to a low-pressure area and north easterly wind flow, and with tropical storm “Malakas” already percolating just outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
