PLDT survives F2 Logistics, finishes fifth


PLDT overcame F2 Logistics, 25-21, 21-25, 25-17, 28-30, 15-8, Tuesday night to finish fifth in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.

Toni Rose Basas and Fiola Ceballos led the way as they each uncorked 18 points as the High Speed Hitters completed a fifth-place finish.

Jovielyn Prado, Julianne Marie Samonte and Mika Reyes provided some help and fired 11, 10 and nine points, respectively.

It was a win that soothed the heartbreak of PLDT’s 25-21, 23-25, 29-31, 25-5, 15-11 defeat at the hands of Choco Mucho in the quarterfinals on March 29.

The Cargo Movers, who were eliminated by the Petro Gazz Angels, 25-14, 22-25, 25-20, 25-19, in their own quarterfinal showdown, slipped to sixth spot.
