Diocese of Kidapawan Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, chairman of the CBCP – Episcopal Commission on Social Action, Justice and Peace said, the Catholic faithful are one with their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance which is a time for reflection, penance, and prayer.

Bishop Bagaforo said he will offer prayers for all the members of the Muslim community for a meaningful observance of the month of Ramadan.

“We express our solidarity and oneness with our Muslim brothers and sisters as they celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. ‘Assalamualaikum’ to all of you. May the observance serve as a reminder to all of you to remember the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Peace be to his name,” Bishop Bagaforo said over Radio Veritas.

“As we seek forgiveness for our sins, may we also forgive those who have wronged us. I wish you all a meaningful observance,” he added.

The holy month of Ramadan, a month of fasting for the more than 10 million Filipino Muslims, began on April 2 and will end on May 3.
