One killed, five injured in 3-vehicle collision in Nueva Vizcaya


SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya – One died while five others were injured in a collision involving three vehicles in the intersection of National Highway and Mabini Street, Brgy. Poblacion South, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya on Saturday night.

Killed in the mishap was Romnick Domingo, 28, and a resident of Ortiz St., Brgy. Osmeña, Solano who was riding his Honda TMX 125 tricycle when bumped off by a Victory Liner bus in the intersection.

Based on the initial investigation, at around 11:40 p.m. Domingo, who was traversing the Mabini Street, failed to observe traffic rules and crossed the intersection right away. Unfortunately, Domingo didn’t notice the fast-approaching bus driven by Heherson Valencia, 40, a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Naggasican, Santiago City, Isabela.

A Mitsubishi Xpander vehicle with five passengers inside which was parked along the right outer lane of the national highway had also been hit in the accident.

Domingo was declared dead on arrival at a hospital while passengers of the Xpander identified as Monaliza Castro , 45, teacher; Monette Reyes, 25; Christian Reyes, 27, construction worker; Rommel Castro, 20, student; and Aliah Manalo, 18 sustained minor injuries.

The Xpander passengers are residents of Aparri, Cagayan. They were brought to Region II Trauma and Medical Center (R2TMC) in Bayombong for treatment.

Master Sergeant Michael Querimit, investigator-on-case, said that all vehicles involved incurred damages of still undetermined cost.
