Muntinlupa City’s active Covid-19 cases now only 3


Muntinlupa City’s total number of active Covid-19 is now down to three, its lowest tally since the pandemic started in 2020.

As of April 2, the City Health Office (CHO) reported that Muntinlupa has 39,907 confirmed cases, 39,290 recoveries and 614 deaths to bring the total active cases to only three.

CHO’s data also showed one new case and two recoveries were added on April 2 in Barangay Alabang with zero new deaths. The remaining eight barangays tallied zero new Covid-19 cases.

Seven out of nine barangays in Muntinlupa are now COVID-19 free. These are Barangays Tunasan, Poblacion, Putatan, Bayanan, Ayala Alabang, Buli and Sucat. Of the three active cases, two are in Alabang and one in Cupang.

In December, the Muntinlupa City government recorded its lowest daily active cases of five on Dec. 20.

The city government said Sucat remained Covid-19 free for 25 days, Bayanan for 17 days, Buli for 17 days, Tunasan for 11 days, Putatan for five days, Ayala Alabang for three days and Poblacion for two days.

But Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said residents should not lower their guard and urged them to continue following minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks and washing of hands. He also encouraged them to get vaccinated and receive their booster shots.

Residents may register online through the city’s Covid-19 vaccination registration system via www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac.

As of March 31, a total of 483,370 adults have been fully vaccinated in Muntinlupa, or 109 percent of the target population of 442,146.

In addition, 118,689 individuals have received their booster shots or 25 percent of the total fully vaccinated adults.
