Devotees of the Black Nazarene may once again touch the image above the main altar of Quiapo Church in Manila.
This as the "pahalik" of the image resumed on Friday, April 1.
Quiapo Church Rector Monsignor Hernando "Ding" Coronel said the "pahalik" started at 4 a.m.
"It started earlier today. Observing proper protocols from Evangelista as entrance to Quezon Blvd as exit," he said in a text message.
Quiapo Church temporarily stopped the "pahalik" in 2020 to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 in the country.
During the Traslacion 2021 and 2022, the "pahalik" tradition was replaced by the practice of "pagtanaw" (viewing).
The Black Nazarene is a life-sized, dark-colored, wooden sculpture of Jesus Christ that was brought to Manila by Augustinian priests in 1607.
