Most wanted persons in Cebu, Bohol fall


CEBU CITY -- Three most wanted persons in Cebu City and Bohol province were arrested on Wednesday, March 30, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) reported.

Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, regional director of PRO 7, identified the arrested wanted persons as Dupias Maglupay, 43, Juanito Saranza, 42, and Ronel Laranjo Torres, 27.

Maglupay, the No. 2 most wanted person in Bohol, is a resident of Barangay Canlambong, Dimiao, Bohol. He was arrested for murder and attempted homicide cases.

An arrest warrant was issued against Maglupay by Presiding Judge Prince Joses Lim of Municipal Circuit Trial Court, Branch 11 in Valencia, Bohol.

Saranza, on the other hand, was arrested by operatives of the Loboc and Anda Municipal Police Stations and Anti-kidnapping Group Visayas Field Unit Team.

Tagged as the No. 6 most wanted person in Bohol, Saranza has a standing warrant of arrest for three counts of sexual abuse.

Executive Judge Samuel Biliran of Regional Trial Court Court, Branch 50, in Loay, Bohol issued the arrest warrant against Saranza.

Torres, who is no. 1 in the list of wanted persons in Cebu City, was arrested in Barangay 3 in Siaton, Negros Oriental.

Torres is facing rape charges, the PRO 7 said.

Vega said efforts to hunt down wanted persons will be intensified.

"We will enforce the law without fear or favor," said Vega.
