9 persons nabbed with P296,000 worth of shabu in Taguig


The police seized P296,276 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and arrested nine persons in anti-criminality operations in Taguig on Sunday, March 27.

Tricycle driver Jaynoding Salik, 40, was arrested for possession of illegal drugs along Road 3, Barangay New Bicutan, Taguig.

According to a report received by Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, members of Taguig police’s Sub-Station 9, together with the Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU) and Taguig Peace and Order Unit (TPOU), were conducting “Oplan Galugad” when they caught Salik in possession of one plastic sachet containing about 25 grams of suspected shabu with a value of P170,000.

The suspect is now detained at the Taguig police’s Custodial Facility and the drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

The SPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit together with the District Intelligence Division and District Mobile Force Battalion conducted a buy-bust operation at Block 10, Lot 16 Pulse St., ARCA South, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig at about 8 p.m. that resulted in the arrest of Rolando Gayas, 32, and Christian Castillo, 27.

Seized from them were six plastic sachets containing 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P68,000 and P500 buy-bust money.

In addition, the Taguig police’s Sub-Station 9 personnel, together with MPU and TPOU, were conducting a joint “Oplan Galugad” at Bagong Buhay, Barangay San Miguel, Taguig when they arrested suspects Dalisay Mastrili, 53, and Francisco Salon, 47, for possession of two plastic sachet containing 1.57 grams of suspected shabu with a value of P10,676.

Along J. Ramos Street, Barangay Ibayo-Tipas, Taguig, the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit launched a buy-bust operation and arrested Allan Bobotiok, 53, and Mercindo Bobotiok, 48.

Recovered from them were five plastic sachets containing 5.8 grams of suspected shabu with a value of P39,440 and P200 buy-bust money.

The Taguig police’s Sub-Station 4 also conducted an “Oplan Galugad” along Bagong Calzada Street, Barangay Tuktukan, Taguig and arrested Bon-Ryan Cayanan, 42, and Jarel Bermudez, 33, in possession of two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 1.2 grams with a value of P8,160.

The police will file charges against the arrested suspects for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
