Pasig City Vice Mayor Bernardo kicks off house-to-house campaign

Current Pasig City Vice Mayor and mayoral candidate Iyo Bernardo kicked off his campaign by going house-to-house with members of Team PasigueñIYO in Barangay Kapasigan, Pasig City on Friday, March 25.

Bernardo said he chose to campaign house-to-house instead of holding a proclamation rally in order to directly reach out to the people, citing his preference for outside exposure over office-based work.

“Sa labas makikita ang mga problema ng mga kababayan natin dito sa lungsod ng Pasig. Para napapakinggan ko rin po, at nalalaman din ang mga solusyon na pwedeng gawin para sa mga problema sa lungsod ng Pasig, lalo na sa mga mahihirap (You can better see the problems our citizens are experiencing in the city if you go out, so that I can hear and know the solutions we can provide to address these problems, especially for the poor),” Bernardo said in an interview with Pasig News Today.

If elected as mayor, he said health and education-based programs will be among his priority projects, namely offering free hospitalization, building hospitals in distant barangays, continuing scholarship programs, and distributing monthly allowances for students.

He also plans to offer free maintenance medication for senior citizens and to meet the needs of hospice patients.

Joining him in the campaign is Atty. Christian “Ian” Sia, his candidate for vice mayor.

The team’s candidates for councilor are Reggie Balderrama, Jana De Leon, Jessie Gaviola, Bobot Guevarra, and Migs Caruncho Trinidad for District 1; and Syvel Asilo, Charmie Benavides, Apple Benito, Steve De Asis, and Kaye Dela Cruz for District 2.
