This woman gets cheated on after giving one kidney to boyfriend

Still, no regrets! She's happy now with current beau

Going viral earlier this month was a TikTok video posted by 30-year-old Fil-Vietnamese Colleen Le where she remembers that one of her kidneys is in her ex-boyfriend's body already. That post had over 1.5 million views, along with her January post about donating her kidney to then-dying boyfriend with almost 16 million views.

Le tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle that they met through friends and got along pretty well, eventually developing feelings for each other. "He was pretty upfront about his health condition from the start of our relationship (chronic kidney disease) and told me how he had to go through peritoneal dialysis every night for nine hours. He told me his kidney function was already below 5 percent," she explains.

Before Le even considered giving one of her kidneys, her then-boyfriend already tried raising that idea to her. "He showed me brochures on the process of kidney donation and the phone number to call before I even offered." As goes the story, Le donated one of her kidneys. Luckily, she recuperated well and fast in about two weeks after the surgery.

Unfortunately though, her then-boyfriend cheated after dating for seven months. "He came to my house unannounced and confessed to the cheating," she continues. "I just felt so overwhelmed and broken hearted. After he left, I had to go to work at Disneyland."

It's been five years since then, and they haven't spoken to each other. She is grateful for many of her family and friends who have been with her all throughout this chapter of hers. "They've been very supportive during all of this. If anything, they were just really angry for me because they didn't think I deserved to be treated that way."

Le has been fortunate enough to meet someone who deserves her love. "I'm currently dating someone and we have been together for almost five years now."

Though there are scars from her past relationship, lessons are learned and regrets are avoided so Le can live life to the fullest. "I only wish him well and to take care of himself."
