LUCENA, Quezon -- Presidential aspirant and Manila mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Monday, March 21, said corruption should not be just freely accepted even if it will be hard to stop.

Domagoso made the comment following former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s statement that corruption cannot be stopped, saying it is a "human condition."

"Ewan ko sakanya. Syempre ano naman nya yon, yun idea nya, damdamin nya (I do not know about him. Of course, that's his idea, his feelings)," he said in a chance interview here.

"At the end of the day, while the world is not perfect. Talaga namang hindi perpekto ang mundo, ang tao, ang gobyerno, but at least wag man lang natin tanggapin na para bang wala na tayong magagawa (The world is really not perfect, the people, the government, but at least let's not accept it as if we can't do anything)," he stressed.

Domagso then urged Marcos to instead take the initiative to give back the P203 Billion estate tax debt to the government.

While he did not specifically mentioned the P203B estate tax debt of the Marcos heirs, Domagoso has been repeatedly pushing Marcos to pay his family's billions of pesos in debt taxes to the government.

"Ako naman ang payo ko lang, kung tayo ay maglilingkod, kung ako sa kanya, siya na manguna na i-surrender nalang nila yung marapat sa bansa para magamit natin itong ayuda (My only advice, if we will serve, if I were him, he should take the initiative to just surrender it to the country so that we can use this as aid)," he said.

"Malaking bagay ito kapag ikinusang loob niya na 'yung pagbibigay nung bagay sa gobyerno at tao. Nakalagay naman don sa order eh, final and executory (This is a big thing if he decided to give the it to the government and the people. It was in the order, final and executory)," he pointed out.

Domagoso and the Askyon Demokratiko senatorial slate are currently in Quezon province as part of theire campaign sortie.
