Beating the odds in 2021 and raring to go for stronger sales in 2022
As the country emerges from the hardest phase of the pandemic, a sense of normalcy gradually takes over. Though things will not go back the same way as before, we improve and incorporate the best practices learned from the pandemic. One lesson we learned is the importance of appreciation—thanking our family and friends, our co-workers and supervisors. Without their support, it would be much harder to survive the two-year ordeal.
It is in this same kind of appreciation that Suntrust Properties Inc. (SPI) conveyed to its “Suntrustees” (or in-house agents) when the developer hosted its annual sales award with the theme “1Conquer #AsOneWeGo.” Held via Zoom last March 8, 2022, the event was a symbol of “winning the battle” as Suntrust emerged stronger, better, and more resilient after the two-year pandemic.
All Suntrustees were invited to join in their evening gowns and suits. The program started with games and a performance from the Singing Sensations. This was followed by welcoming remarks from Engr. Leonora P. Gutierrez, senior AVP – Davao/ Bacolod operations who saluted each and every Suntrustee who contributed to the stellar sales performance for 2021.
“Year 2021 was full of challenges but despite these, many of us were able to beat the odds and delivered the sales expected. We know how each of you persevered. We understand everything that you went through only to bring in every single sale that you worked for,” said Gutierrez.
Her message was supported with another inspirational speech from SPI’s EVP and COO Deanna Jean A. Claveria.
“After two years of winter when we were under COVID, now is the start of our spring, now is the start of our new life, now is the start of our new beginning!” exclaimed Claveria. “In spite of the harsh winter, in spite of all the negative things, we have proven one thing – if we truly know our true purpose in life, not just to earn a buck or two but learning the reason why you are here, then that will make you more resilient and stronger.”
Claveria also extolled the loyal Suntrustees who stayed with the company in the past two years. “Thank you for your loyalty and faith in the company and its leadership. We may not be perfect but we are a company of people with hearts.”
On the other hand, Jerry Rubis, SPI’s FVP for sales, marketing, and training saluted all the Suntrustees and encouraged them to achieve their sales commitment this 2022. As SPI’s “Father of Sales,” he also commended all the agents for a job well done last 2021 despite the challenges of the pandemic.
“The calling of love should be adopted by every Suntrustee – if you have shown love in selling or in achieving your quotas, that love and care will reflect on your household’s table. To those who really showed their love these past two years, they have conquered their fears. Those who conquered their fears will come out of life very successful. This year is your recovery year! Make the most out of it.”
The event concluded with a toast of the executives for a brighter and bigger 2022 for SPI and a heartfelt speech by the company’s president, Atty. Harrison M. Paltongan.
“May I start with congratulating our awardees because despite of the pandemic, they were still able to achieve their quotas. We have conquered the pandemic and crossed the darkest moments of the past two years. But these past two years were not a waste, because we are strengthening our foundations under the ground, we are building the kind of personality, the kind of character that cannot be demolished by any kind of fear, worries, threats, or anything. We have planted the roots and we are now prepared to sprout from the ground and appear and conquer the world,” said Paltongan. “So, to all the Suntrustees, I wish you all more sales and success this 2022. Indeed, today is a celebration and we hope to create more sales milestones with all of you.”
