AirAsia PH Pril seat sales up 97%

AirAsia Philippines reported a 97 percent increase in seats sold for travel in April, with Boracay, Bohol, Cebu, Kalibo and Puerto Princesa as the most booked destinations, Spokesperson and Head of Communications and Public Affairs Steve Dailisan said on Friday, March 18.

In addition, the budget carrier expects an influx of international travelers as the country fully opens to all foreign tourists, not just those from 157 visa-free countries, on April 1.

Most recent data from the Department of Tourism (DOT) revealed that the country already received 96,096 tourists from Feb. 10 to March 15, prior to opening up.

To cater to the demand surge from foreign travelers, AirAsia Philippines is also increasing its weekly flight frequencies.

Beginning April 1, it is increasing its flights to Caticlan (Boracay) to 35x, Kalibo to 18x, Iloilo to 18x, Tacloban to 28x, Panglao to 18x, Puerto Princesa to 10x, Bacolod to 18x, Davao to 14x and Cebu to 26x.

“The influx of foreign tourists into the country will definitely signify the strong recovery of the Philippine aviation industry," he noted.

All AirAsia Philippines destinations are now accepting fully vaccinated foreign visitors with only their vaccination cards as entry requirements.

This is expected to provide extra mobility to foreign travelers especially those who want to experience inter-island adventure.

To provide an added layer of safety and protection to both foreign and local travelers, AirAsia Philippines has also included a Covid-19 protection under its Tune Protect Travel.

For P230, guests can avail of a comprehensive travel insurance plan which is also available for purchase as add-on through airasia.com.
