468 wanted criminals caught in W. Visayas in February


ILOILO CITY -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) caught 468 wanted criminals across Western Visayas region in the month of February 2022.

Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, director of Police Regional Office (PRO-6), said the number is 24.8% higher than last month, which saw the authorities arrest 375 individuals.

“This showed the dedication and commitment of our unit commanders and their personnel across Western Visayas,” said Dongbo.

Of the 468 arrested, 83 are considered most wanted persons (MWPs). Negros Occidental province had the most number of MWPs arrested with 23, followed by Bacolod City with 20.

Fourteen MWPs were arrested in Iloilo province, nine in Capiz province, five each in Iloilo City and Antique province, four in Aklan, and two in Guimaras province.

There were 219 other wanted persons (OWPs) arrested across Western Visayas. Negros Occidental province also had the most number of arrests with 219 persons.

The PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-Region 6) also caught one MWP and 12 other wanted persons.
