About 50 lawyers are set to take their oaths on March 21 as members of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).

PAO Chief Persida V. Rueda Acosta on Monday, March 14, said the incoming new lawyers would replace those who had been appointed as prosecutors or judges.

There are more applications for PAO lawyers which are still under process, Acosta said.

“At sa darating po na 21 ng Marso manunumpa ang mga kapalit po nila para hindi po ma-jeopardize ang mga hearing at paghawak ng mga kaso ng ating mga abogado (This March 21 there will lawyers who will take their oaths and their assumption to office will not prejudice the hearings of PAO cases,” she said.

Last Dec. 14, there were 52 new lawyers who took their oaths before Acosta during a virtual event.
